Testing, simulation and design of steel equal-leg angle section beams

The stability and design of steel equal-leg angle section members subjected to uniaxial bending are studied herein. An experimental investigation, comprising material testing, initial geometric imperfection measurements physical tests on hot-rolled beams is first presented. test results, in combination with existing data collected from the literature, then used for validation numerical (shell finite element) models, developed within commercial package ABAQUS. Next, a parametric study presented considering both cold-formed wide range slenderness values.
